How to write chemical equations correctly

Chemical equations reflect the objective facts of chemical reactions. Therefore, two principles must be followed in writing chemical equations: one is to be based on objective facts; the other is to abide by the law of conservation of mass, and the types and numbers of atoms on both sides of the equal sign must be equal.

The type and number of atoms on both sides of the equal sign of the chemical equation are equal, and this chemical equation is called balanced. But not all chemical equations are so simple.

Sometimes,in order to make the total number of atoms of each element on both sides of the formula equal, it needs to be balanced, that is, to match the appropriate stoichiometry in front of the chemical formulas on both sides of the formula number.

After tudying this topic, you should know

1.There are two principles to be followed in writing chemical equations: one is to be based on objective facts; the other is to abide by the law of conservation of mass.

2.When writing a chemical equation, an appropriate stoichiometric number should be added in front of the chemical formula on the left and right sides of the formula so that the total number of atoms of each element is equal. This process is the balancing of the chemical equation.
