Lesson 15 Yilu Lihua/Peng Jingfeng
Mountains, what a big mountain! The
undulating green mountains stretched one after another, into the distance,
disappearing into the confused twilight. This is the highest point in the southern section of Mount Ailao.
With such a steep mountain and such a dense forest, it is rare to meet a few
people on the road after walking for a day. As the sun sets, we are a little
anxious, if we can't catch the sun village on the other side of the mountain
tonight, we will only sleep in this deep mountain. Lao Yu is a person who has lived in the border area for many years.
As he was walking, he suddenly pointed ahead and shouted: "Look, Lihua! ” White pear blossoms are full of branches, what a beautiful pear
forest! Lao Yu said: "There are pear trees here, and there will be
people in front of them." ” A crescent moon rose, and we walked through the flickering pear
grove with the help of the faint moonlight. The night breeze in the mountains
cooled our faces, and the white petals of pear blossoms gently fell on
us. "Look, someone's home." A grass-roofed, bamboo-walled hut appears by a pear grove. The room
was dark, with no lights or voices. Whose house is this? Lao Yu walked over with a torch and found that the door was buckled
from the outside. On the white water door panel were written two words in black
charcoal: "Please come in!" ” We pushed open the door and went inside. The ash in the fire pit was
cold, and apparently, no one had lived in it for many days. A large simple
bamboo bed covered with thick straw. The large bamboo tube leaning against the
wall was filled with water, and I tasted it, and the water was cool and
delicious. We were tired of walking and decided to spend the night here. Lao Yu used a torch to shoot up and down the house, and found a few
lines of thick writing on the wall: "There is dry firewood at the back of
the house, and rice, salt, and spicy seeds in the bamboo tube on the
beam." ” We started cooking on the fire. The warm fire, fragrant rice and
piping hot foot wash wash took away our fatigue and hunger. We lay on the soft
hay and were grateful to the owners of the small huts. I asked Lao Yu,
"What do you guess this owner does?" Lao Yu said: "It may be an old
man guarding the mountain and protecting the forest." ” As he spoke, the door was pushed open. An old Yao man with white
eyebrows stood in front of the door, carrying an open fire gun in his hand and
a bag of rice on his shoulder. The "host" is back. Lao Yu and I grabbed the old man's
hand at the same time and rushed to say words of thanks; The old man's eyes
widened, and he couldn't stop talking several times. Until we stopped talking,
the old man smiled and said, "I'm not a master, I'm also a passerby!"
” We invited the old man to sit down in front of the fire, saw that he
was also tired and hungry, and quickly brought him hot water and hot rice. The
old man smiled: "Thank you, thank you, thank you for a long time." ” It seems that he is a person with a lot of experience in walking
through mountains and forests. After eating, he lit a bag of dry cigarettes and
said with a smile: "I brought grain to the master's family." ” "Who is the master?" "I don't know." "Who will give the grain to?" "Hang on the beams." "Old man, you're really kidding." He leisurely spat out his cigarette and said, "I'm not kidding.
After a pause, he continued: "I am the Yao family who has crossed the
mountain rock on the edge of the Red River, and I usually love hunting. Last
month, I chased a group of deer, turned east and west in the old forest, lost
my way, and somehow came to this mountain. At that time, people were tired of
walking, and the dry food was also eaten, and they wanted to find a village to
rest, but there was no one in this area. When I was disappointed, I suddenly
saw this pear blossom forest and this hut, there was firewood, rice, and water
in the house, but there was no owner. Eat and use other people's things, is it
okay not to make it clear? I had to tear a piece of the red cloth on the
headscarf, stick a feather on the door, and tell the master that a Yao family
member has come to disturb me, and I will come back in a few days to thank
you..." Speaking of this, he pointed behind the door: "Look, that thing
is still there!" ” A white feather is nailed to the red cloth, and the red and white
contrast looks good. When the old man said this, he paused for a while, and
then continued: "I asked everywhere which the owner of the small hut was,
and finally learned from a horse herder, it turned out that there was a little
Hani girl named Lihua on the top of the mountain opposite the gate, she said
that on this big hillside, there is no village or village, and she wants to
help passers-by with the spirit of serving the people." ” Only then did we realize that the rice, water, and dry firewood in
the house, as well as the enthusiastic word "please come in", all
came from the hands of the little girl of Nahani. What a wonderful pear
blossom! The Yao elder also said: "The passers-by are very grateful for
being taken care of, and they all try their best to make up for the firewood
and rice they have used, so that it is convenient for future generations."
I came specifically to deliver food this time. ” That night, I slept very sweetly, strolling in the fragrant pear
blossom forest in a trance, and saw a little Hani girl in a flower shirt
singing among the pear blossom bushes... The next morning, instead of hitting the road immediately and without
the old man leaving, we decided to repair the hut, add some grass to the roof,
and dig the drainage ditch in front of and behind the house a little deeper. A
little Hani girl can think about the masses, and we should really learn from
her. We were laboring, and suddenly a group of Hani girls flashed out of
the pear bushes. Walking in front, about fourteen or fifteen years old, his
rosy face had two curved slender eyebrows and a pair of big crystal eyes. I
thought, "She must be Pear Blossom." ” The old man of the Yao tribe immediately walked up to them, bent
down deeply, and made a big gift, which frightened the little girls like little
finches and jumped away, and then laughed loudly: "Grandpa, you give us
such a big gift, aren't you afraid of breaking us?" The old man said
solemnly, "I thank you for building this small grass house." ” The little girl who was the head quickly intervened: "Don't
thank us!" Don't thank us! The house was built by the PLA uncle. ” Then, the little girl told us the origin of the house. More than a
decade ago, a group of People's Liberation Army troops passed by and spent the
night in the woods, drenching in heavy rain in the middle of the night. They
thought it would be nice to have a hut here to shelter passers-by from the
elements, and the next morning they cut down trees and grass to build a house.
Her sister happened to come up the mountain here to carry the fungus, and
curiously asked her uncle of the People's Liberation Army: "You want to
live here for a long time?" The PLA said: "No, we are for the
convenience of passers-by." It was Comrade Lei Feng who taught us to do
this. "Her sister was very moved. Since then, he has often taken advantage
of the opportunity to chop firewood, collect fungi, and find herbs to take care
of this small hut. It turns out that she is not a pear blossom yet. I asked, "What
about Pear Blossom?" ” "I got married to the mountain a few years ago." Needless to say, after my sister got married, it was the little girl
who took over the task and often came to take care of this small hut. I looked at this group of energetic Hani girls and the white pear
blossoms, and I couldn't help but think of a poem: "The pear blossoms
bloom everywhere on the road."
